Quick Tips and Easy Uses

Top you favorite hot cereal, add a little pepper jelly for a kick start!

Warmed it can be used for pancakes, French toast or waffles in place of syrup.

Sweeten a grapefruit with a teaspoon or two and serve as is or broil until bubbly.

Make a store bought coffee cake special with jam or jelly and broiled until warm to add that special touch.

Blend together 2 parts sour cream and 1 part jelly or jam for a fruit salad dressing.

Top cottage cheese with a spoonful or two; spice it up with a pepper jelly

Make plain yogurt zing with a spoonful or two for a special treat.

Glaze veggies such as carrots, beets or sweet potatoes by add 1/4 cup apricot, pineapple or peach jam before serving.

Fill butternut or acorn squash with apricot or pineapple jam or jelly before baking for a sweet fruity side dish.

Use you favorite jam or jelly or a pepper jelly as a glaze on meats or poultry: Suggestions are pork; pineapple, apricot, cherry, peach, orange marmalade, blueberry eithe plain or hot pepper.  Poultry; cherry, red raspberry, peach, apricot, orange or pineapple.  Beef; current, quince, herb, onion, lime Jalapeno (from Nishnaview Farm of course).  Fish or seafood; herb jellies, lime, orange, red raspberry jalapene (ty it on shrimp), pineapple.

Make a sweet and sour sauce:  Combine 1/2 cup jelly, 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 cup wine vinegar.  Simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly.  Add jelly to stir fries for a quick sauce.

Make a BBQ sauce:  Mix 1/4 cup orange marmalade, apricot, peach, plum, pineapple or grape with 1/2 cup chili sauce, and 2 Tbsp steak sauce.  Try pepper jellies for a little extra kick.  Use on chicken, ribs or ham.

Mix jalapeno jellies with honey mustard or Diojon and a little liquid smoke for a dipping suae for chicken nuggets or spring rolls.

Use jalpeno jellies plain or thin with a little yogurt for dipping fresh fruit, vegetables, or fried zucchine or okra.  Use as a side dip for jalapeno poppers. 

Make sandwiches stand out!  Use jalapenon jellies on top of turkey or chicken with goat cheese and lettuce on a tortilla for a roll up or quesadilla.

Melt and mix with Italian dressing or a little vinegar and oil for a salad dressing.  Red Raspberry is my favorite.

Use on ice cream, either heated or out of the jar, for a topping or try it on crepes.

Make a plain cheese cake special or slice a store bought pound cake shine by slicing in horizontal slices, spread with jam, reassemble and slice vertical and serve with whipped cream for a quick and easy dessert for company.

Slip red, green or purple grapes into melted grape jelly, then into sugar for a showy simple dessert.  Brush jalapeno pepper jellies on pineapple or water melon slices and grill.

Use your kids favorite jam or jelly in making thumbprint cookies.  Add an extra "wow" by using pepper jellies.

Fill boughten sponge cake shells with strawberry jam, top with fresh or frozen strawberries and top with a dollop of whipped cream.  Switch it up by using blueberries or raspberries. 

Top slices of angel food cake with warmed preserves or jam.  Serve plain or topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream or creme fresh.

Tired of the same old cole slaw.  Add some zip by adding jalapeno jellies to mayo to make the dressing extra tangy.

Make sandwich cookies by spreading jam, preserve, or jelly on the bottoms of vamilla wafers or gingersnaps and sandwich two together.

Blend one cup frozen yogurt or ice milk with one cup milk and 1/4 cup preserves or jam for a milk shake.

Sweeten a cup of hot tea with 1 to 2 tesapoons of your favorit flavor jelly.

Dip margarita glasses inot jelly then fill with you favorite magarita mix for a change of pace.

Give brownies a twist, add 1/2 of cherry or raspberry jam or preserves to a brownie mix ingredients and bake according to package directions. 

Warm and spoon onto peach, pear or apricot halves for a quick dessert. 

Top goat cheese, brie or smoked cheddar with jelly or jams for a quick appetizer.

Take crescent roll or flatten refrigerator biscuit dough with a small spoonful of cream cheese and jelly.  Pull the doughup around and bake for a quick and easy appetizer.

Mix pepper jellies with cream cheese for a quick cracker spread.

Top English muffins, toast or bagels with cream cheese and you favorite jelly. 

Take a plain waffle top with jelly or jam and fruit, add whipped cream or ice cream for a elegant treat.

Serve with a bread basket for you favorite meal.

Put peanut butter on crackers or toast and top with your favorite jam or jelly for a quick after school snack.

Or just make a good old Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich and enjoy.  Use pepper jellies for an extra kick.
